Stand-up
Welcome readers of our blog! We haven't had a post in a long time, but I have though of plenty of things I would like to do before I kick the bucket. One thing I would like to try before I die is stand-up comedy. I think it would be such an amazing feeling to go on stage and just make people laugh. Stand-up comedy is an art often taken for granted, but I know how much I love listening to comedians. It would be awesome to be able to create something that will brighten people's days.

Street Art
I recently watched a documentary on what some would call graffiti and others would refer to as street art. It is hard to explain and I will save most of the details but a guy with a camera ends up following these street artists around and records what they do. Some of the people he meets are space invader from France, Shepard Farey, and even Banksy who never reveals his identity. The story continues to show how this so called filmmaker becomes a street artist by copying other pieces and in a way ruining the culture.
The pieces these featured artists above do and many others that were shown were not gang related or drawn to vandalize property but to do something different and new. They would go out at night and paint or in some cases glue giant printouts to walls. This is how Shepard Farey became famous creating the Obey face that appears around the world. Banksy's pieces can be found worldwide which are often politically driven like in the West Bank or sometimes just provide a laugh.
I am going to put this as an item on my bucket list. Not to go out and vandalize even though that's exactly what it is in a way but to create a piece of art that people can recognize. I have seen a few attempts around the city and some are good but no one takes it to the level these artists do. My goal isn't necessarily to make a huge statement but I just want to go out and leave something I can always recognize and people can always see.
Art collectors are beginning to buy items done by these artists. They are just out there for people to maybe turn there heads or recognize something they have done. However, a new culture has been born and a new kind of art developed through this movement so why not make my own mark on a small scale.
